In June 2019, I attended a Photography and Archiving workshop at the Australian Museum. We were lead through their exhibition Capturing Nature which displayed photographs from their archives on their collection. We were spoken to by one of the Museums archivists on this particular exhibition. This workshop took us to other parts of the museum, including their photographic studio. After this we were given a chance to photograph items from their collection using a basic studio lighting set up utilising creative camera techniques, off-camera flash lighting and various manual functions. This introduction to effective storage, archiving practices for digital imagery and printing methods.
I absolutely loved attending this workshop as it gave me a small insight into the workings of the Australian Museum and their collection.
